Responsibilities

Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, the Diamond Driller plays a key role in in mine exploration.  More specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Set-up and removal of drill pads
• Ability to operate Electric Hydraulic drills with wire-line tooling
• Experience with Gopher, HD 2000 drills, Bazooka pneumatic
• Ability to drill to depths of 1500-2000ft
• Compliance with QA/QC protocols
• Work in a safe and confident manner and comply with all the Site Safety Procedures
• Complete downhole surveys as requested

Qualifications and Experience

• Experienced Diamond Driller in an underground hard rock mining environment
• Physically capable to withstand the demands of working with diamond drill equipment and drill core (AQ-BTW)

Myra Falls Mine is an underground mine operation located 90 km southwest of Campbell River, BC in the picturesque surroundings of Strathcona Provincial Park, which is a testament to our environmental commitment-the only underground mine operation in a provincial park in Canada. Surrounded by mountains and lakes, the trip to the mine has some of the world’s most impressive views. This is an onsite position and daily travel between the Campbell River/Courtenay area and the mine site is required. Bus transportation is provided. Relocation assistance to the Campbell River area may be available. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
