About the role

We are looking for an Analyst Operational Services to maximize the value of assets by using a reliability lens and performing various predictive maintenance to increase the life cycle of the asset. All the work associated with the facilities and mobile maintenance role must ensure compliance with statutory regulations. The Analyst will lead a team of maintainers, electricians, HVAC technicians, Septic system engineers, general contractors, fire suppression technicians, excavation general contractors, craftsmen and work with various departments and the community surrounding our assets. The role will have accountability for the Mine, Concentrator, Tailings, Smelter, Refinery and General Plant Facilities.

Reporting to the Operational Services - Superintendent, and working in a diverse team within Rio Tinto, you will be:
  • Perform continuous improvement on assets to maximize the lifecycle of our assets.
  • This role manages project based tasks and business improvement based duties.
  • Monitors working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area
  • Assists in the HVAC maintenance for buildings and facilities.
  • Assists in the fire suppression for facilities as well as replacement and repair of existing hand-held fire extinguishers.
  • Assists the septic system and prepares the site permits for state.
  • Assists in electrical maintenance for buildings and facilities.
  • Assists in the regular, gate entry and the overhead doors.
  • Assists in roads, yards, and parking lots.
  • Assists in call outs for maintenance coverage throughout the plants.
  • Assists in the Contractor Compliance through Avetta (our contractor portal).
  • Assists in mobile maintenance of light, medium duty vehicles.
  • The role will be assisting with Contractor Management and adherence to the RT processes and guidelines
  • The role will be expected to have extensive stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Understand reliability principles and life cycle.
  • Ability to perform Pareto charts, root cause analysis.

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

· A High school diploma or GED

· 3+ year of experience in facilities and mobile maintenance within a processing, manufacturing or a related field

· 2+ year of prior leadership experience or leading contractors and vendors

· Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

It will also be beneficial if you have:

· Prior experience working in a Collective Bargaining Agreement environment

· Bachelor's degree

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903, and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
