Head of Global Health and Safety

Work Location: Perth or such other location as agreed between the parties in one of our Regional Hubs

Roster: Monday to Friday

With FFI committed to producing zero-emission green hydrogen and delivering ambitious stretch targets globally, we are seeking a Head of Global H&S to provide global strategy development and implementation; culture change and engagement and cross-functional leadership.

In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships through effective communication and consultation, positively influencing the function and shaping the culture to ensure a safe, productive, and sustainable approach to work.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead and provide mentorship to the Global H&S team to ensure FFI is efficient and geographically deployed to support our vision
  • Deliver expert support and advice on implementation and compliance with legislation, international standards, and internal procedures
  • Engage and establish a high performing team that reflect our FFI values
  • Support the Global executive leadership team by cultivating positive relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategic vision for H&S for studies, projects, and exploration globally
  • Deliver H&S services including health and hygiene management, safety management standard guidance coaching with the associated safety in design principles
  • Ensure that internal and external compliance certifications remain operational and supervise the recertification process with third parties
  • Work closely with Global FFI Security teams to ensure exposures are identified and mitigated through implementation of effective programs and systems.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Preferable - Tertiary qualifications in H&S (Preferably Masters Level) with at least 15 years H&S experience at a senior level
  • Experience running a global support function and collaboration with the on the ground business safety functions (Industry and Projects and Operations)
  • Extensive experience with Process Safety and Risk Management processes
  • Experience in early-stage development, exploration and pre-feasibility - feasibility project Health & Safety in high risk, remote operating environments
  • Experience in major construction project Health & Safety
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislative requirements at a global scale
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences
  • Have experience establishing & implementing H&S Management Systems, management of audit programmes including contractor management and extensive knowledge of investigation tools such as Root Cause and ICAM
  • Ability to cultivate positive and influential relationships with key external and internal stakeholders
  • Natural ability to mentor, manage and facilitate a team
