Description

Under general supervision, provides climate change and related technical expertise, guidance and leadership for climate change projects and programs at the corporate level and assists sites as needed.
  • Develops carbon abatement curves to help guide corporate strategy.
  • Leads cross functional team to develop and maintain tools regarding Climate Change and related targets.
  • Develops and maintains mapping of FCX products through their life cycle to understand downstream scope 3 emissions and document benefits of FCX products to energy transition/meeting Paris goals.
  • Monitors global climate regulations and analyze to understand implications for the business and work with Industry Associations or consortiums on related technical or advocacy efforts.
  • Participates in external climate change focused activities to monitor stakeholder requirements as they develop and interprets how they will impact the business positively and negatively (e.g. TCFD, WRI/WBCSD, etc.) Assists externally to influence key audiences on Climate Change efforts.
  • Conducts targeted advocacy with external stakeholders to help raise FCXs profile amongst climate and responsible production groups and assists with customer questions/engagements related to Responsible Production.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agriculture, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar Science discipline) and five (5) years of Engineering experience in Climate Change management and analysis, including project management experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field and three (3) years of Engineering experience in Climate Change management and analysis, including project management experience
  • Additional certification of licensure appropriate to the ob may be required or preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, permitting, incident investigating and reporting protocols.
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
  • Skilled in managing large/complex environmental projects.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
  • Able to analyze a wide range of soil, water and air samples to recognize potential environmental hazards.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Budgeting, Cost Estimating, Financial Assurance, Project Management, Surface and Groundwater Hydrology (including basin precipitation analysis and open channel hydraulics), environmental site assessment and impact analysis, permitting- agency interactions, public speaking and presenting, compliance management.
