About the Role:
WorkPac are seeking a Contracts & Assets Officer for a Local Council. Our client is a national group of companies engaged in engineering design, construction and land development for clients and partners in the urban development, transport infrastructure and resources. The Company has a strong commitment to Health and Safety, which enables to deliver a larger-scale of multi-disciplinary projects all over Mackay.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate the development, implementation and review of the Property Services asset management plans and systems.
  • Determination of asset life cycle, levels of service and effective maintenance levels and definition of maintenance regimes .
  • Report on strategic asset management related issues and any projected variance to budget allocation.
  • Assist in the development of long term financial strategies to support Councils Asset Management plan and financial projections.
  • Provide input into and development of Asset programmes for area of responsibility.
  • Investigate, monitor and report on infrastructure related issues.
  • Liaising with Councils plant and procurement and sustainability section.
  • Incorporate effective risk management strategies into the property services asset management processes.
  • Develop, implement and audit against outsourced contract management frameworks and manuals.
  • Provide sound commercial and contractual advice .
  • Facilitate the resolution of contract conflicts or issues.
  • Analyse, review and monitor pricing, competiveness and performance of major contracts .
  • Maintain and enhance day-to-day relationships with major contract providers .
  • Assist in the development of governance, frameworks, procedures and practices.
  • Adhoc responsibilities as delegated by your immediate supervisor.
Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to think decisively and act independently.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and/or conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • High Attention to Detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organisation and project management skills such as scheduling, organising, planning, allocation, coaching, and teaching.
  • Proven knowledge in the building maintenance, construction industry and property management.
  • Proven experience in Asset Management system development, operation and data control.
  • Proven knowledge of governance of outsourced operating and asset management arrangements.
  • Proven knowledge of contractor management.
  • Knowledge of processes to capture, analyse data, information models and business requirements to conduct critical analysis of contracts, contract performance and asset improvements.
  • Must be either an Australian Citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position
