About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintainer to join the Cape Lambert Utilities team to actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices, while maintaining and testing of Potable and Waste Water equipment. This role is a great opportunity to be involved in the application of a safe maintenance and operation of the existing physical assets consisting of the fuel and lubricants infrastructure, hydrocarbons waste and associated equipment, town and mine water and waste water infrastructure.

This role will report directly to the Supervisor and will be a FIFO or residential role in Wickham on an 8 day on, 6 day off roster.

This role is an opportunity to further your career in a challenging environment and will involve:
  • Performing routine maintenance inspections on equipment and plant systems
  • Assisting in identifying defects and providing feedback on asset performance
  • Complete Job Hazard Assessments, Take 5 and Critical Risk Management safety procedures
  • To safely carry out inspections, scheduled maintenance and breakdown maintenance to Utilities Assets including:
    • Diesel fuel and lubricant infrastructure.
    • Hydrocarbons wastewater treatment systems
    • Waste Water Treatment
    • Compressed air systems
    • Portable water treatment & monitoring
    • Jet A1 storage and refuelling facilities

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have the following:
  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
  • Australian C class driver's licence (HR is desirable)
  • Background in industrial mechanical hydrocarbons maintenance
  • Understanding of RTIO safety systems and demonstrated strong health & safety performance
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Experience in hydrocarbon operations and maintenance (desirable)
  • High Risk Work Licences in LF, CV, DG, RG (desirable)
  • Jet A1 handling and bridging (desirable)

Where you will be working

Our four independent shipping terminals at two locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier, are managed as a single port system. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, product stockpiling and blending, and ship loading. Employees reside in Wickham which is located 1,572 km north of Perth and 13 km north of Roebourne in the Pilbara region of Western Australia with Karratha being the closest town. Wickham is a fascinating historic town boasting pristine sandy beaches and excellent fishing spots.
