Hatchiscurrently seeking a highly motivatedSpecialist,Global Learning to joinourPeople Development team in Mississauga, Canada. This team is part of our broader Human Resources team within Hatch.

The Specialist, Global Learning is passionate about the Hatch learning environment. In this role, you will help design and champion the learning technology roadmap, manage learning vendor relationships and provide guidance to the broader Learning Services team as we strive to develop innovative learning solutions. We believe each colleague owns their learning and we support them with the tools and environment to help them get where they want to go. In this vital role, you will interact with stakeholders and their teams to implement and support the day-to-day operations of learning platforms, design and develop synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions; as well as share your expertise across our global network of Learning and Development professionals.

Asthesuccessful candidate, you will:
  • Assist the development of a strategic, mutli-year plan to advance the state of our learning ecosystem (i.e., learning technologies/practices, systems, tools and analytics)
  • Manage the operation of our wide range of learning systems and tools (e.g., LMS, virtual classroom, authoring tools, etc.) defining processes and best practices to globally drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead the implementation of learning technology including functional requirement gathering, processes definition, maintenance and day-to-day operational activities
  • Partner closely with key business stakeholders to assess and collaboratively develop solutions that address overall learning system problems/needs and align on priorities for change
  • Be passionate about creating a high-quality, seamless user experience across our learning ecosystem that drives effective adoption
  • Provide expertise and industry trends and best practices supporting the design and development of self-directed learning solutions (e.g., videos, e-learning, infographics, podcasts, etc.)
  • Provide expertise on training metrics to evaluate the efficacy of our learning solutions and inform their development
  • Research and manage relationships with external learning content vendors, monitor their effectiveness and utilization
  • Research innovation in L&D
  • Research innovation and best practices in L&D and serve as a resource to the business for alternative strategies and tactics
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, experimentation, continuous improvement and collaboration to meet business needs, simplify work, improve the experience for our employees
  • Build high-trust relationships with employees in Learning Services, People Development, HR, Operations and the various business units we support
  • Support various projects related to learning and development as required


You bring to the role:
  • Completed post-secondary education, professional certification or equivalent experience in learning and development/learning technology – CTDP Designation would be an asset
  • 5+ years experience with HR/Learning technologies such as LMS, LXPs, LRSs, online ticketing systems, chat bots, virtual collaboration tools, digital learning authoring tools, and e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI, Badges, etc.)
  • 2-3 years experience leading others and providing performance management, coaching and professional development
  • Passion for a deep expertise with learning technologies and analytics
  • Informed opinions on technology architecture and system process design
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.

  • Strong consultative skills, are very creative, resilient and agile, and possess excellent SME and stakeholder interviewing skills
  • Strengths in working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to work effectively and successfully under pressure
  • Experience in basic project management and client relationship management
  • Experience leading change to achieve effective adoption
  • You may also have experience in software development, data analytics, data visualization, design thinking and change management
