About the Role:
Workpac are seeking an experienced Technical Learning Partner - Automated Drilling Systems for an opportunity with our leading mining client based in Brisbane.

Our client is looking for a highly skilled candidate to work with the internal learning organisation to act as a strategic learning partner for the Mine Modernisation Automated Drilling System (ADS) programme. The ADS programme allows Drill Controllers to control a fleet of surface blast hole drills from a remote control room removing the team members on site risk. The Technical Learning Partner will be responsible for translating the ADS business needs into learning and training solutions for the team. The successful candidate will have a drill and blast engineering background or similar with a desire to build learning opportunities to support delivery of the clients future vision. This is a Monday to Friday role based in Brisbane CBD for a 1 year opportunity with possible extension.

Key Duties:
  • Act as a trusted strategic learning partner for the Mine Modernisation Automated Drilling Systems (ADS) programme
  • Work with the Technical Academys learning vendors to translate the Automated Drilling Systems business needs into cutting-edge learning solutions, using your technical expertise to guide the creation process
  • Partner with learning vendors to define the scope, schedule and charter for each Automated Drilling Systems learning project
  • Oversee the existing Automated Drilling Systems learning projects, ensuring that the schedule, dependencies, and plan to deliver the learning are clear
  • Manage Automated Drilling Systems subject matter experts to ensure that design reviews and inputs are completed as outlined in the project schedule
  • Provide updates on progress, opportunities, issues, and risks for the Autonomous Drilling learning projects and portfolio
  • Represent the TA at various internal Mining Forums to provide updates on the success, lessons learned, and valuable data gathered from this rollout
Experience Required:
  • Knowledge and experience working in the mining industry, ideally in an automated mining capacity
  • Knowledge of Automated mining technologies
  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of organisational change management and project management tools
  • Ability to translate business strategy and initiatives into learning needs
  • Ability to envisage creative learning solutions in partnership with a learning vendor
  • Must hold full working rights in Australia
