A leading Mining Operator are looking for a Resources & Exploration Manager to be based out of their London office.
The main role of the Resources & Exploration Manager will be to manage global exploration and orebody knowledge programs, support mineral resource MRMR preparation and support M&A.
Your roles and responsibilities as Resources and Exploration Manager will include:
• Work with the Head of Mineral Resources and Strategic Planning to determine a group wide mineral resources replacement strategy
• Rigorous target generation and exploration programs
• Consolidation of mineral rights information
• Strategic guidance to business units’ exploration teams
• Shape strategic evolution and ensure sustainability of mineral exploration, MRMR, Orebody Knowledge
• Mining portfolio resources strategy: ensuring right volumes and quality are being planned and explored, resulting in right products for max shareholder value
• Develop target generation priorities, exploration programs, budgets, methodology, selection of drilling companies, labs, consultants with focus in iron ore and metallurgical coal that create significant value to the company, including impartial assessment of future exploration programs designed by business units
• Implement best practices in mineral exploration across the operating units
• Provide strategic guidance to business units exploration teams
• Consolidate mineral rights information and provide guidance to mining segment M&A and business units on resources opportunities. Support/Guide the creation of a GIS database for mineral exploration
• Able to manage, interpret and review 3d geological and resource models using the latest mining systems
• Provide support in MRMR reporting and mine reconciliation reports

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
• Proven experience in managing exploration programs
• Consulting background a plus
• Proven knowledge in iron ore and coal resource modelling
• Mine planning skill
