Position summary
Downer has a long history of delivering transport infrastructure projects under a variety of contracting models. Services include the design and construction of light rail, heavy rail, signalling, track and station works, rail safety technology, bridges and roads.

Reporting into the Operations Manager we have a fantastic opportunity for a Contract Administrator to join our Rail Infrastructure Projects team based in Adelaide, SA. In this role you will manage the daily Administration and Financial activities which will include, Subcontract Management, assessment of Variations and extension of time Claims, Payment Claim assessments and cost management, procurement (including assistance with the preparation of tender packages) whilst ensuring compliance with Infrastructure Projects policies and procedures, stakeholder requirements and statutory regulations.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
  • Assist with the preparation and negotiation of subcontractor agreements.
  • Prepare and manage monthly progress claims and variation administration.
  • Assist with the preparation of subcontractor and supplier tenders and create new supplier forms.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and resolve issues as required.
  • Commercial support for the project managers including preparation of EOT, Variation & contract notifications on multiple projects.
  • Work closely with the downer commercial team to ensure contract compliance & delivery in line with the Downer Standard.
  • Support end of month financial processes and reporting.

ABOUT YOU:
  • Experience gained in a similar role ideally within the Rail or Infrastructure industry.
  • Experienced in contract reviews & tender support.
  • Experience in the civil construction and maintenance industry in a contract administration or similar role will be highly regarded.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability in liaising and building relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Proven experience working effectively autonomously as well as within a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload as well working MS and accounting systems.
