ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the Training Coordinator supervises and coordinates the training activities of his/her team members, in close collaboration with the members of other departments of the mine. The incumbent is responsible of analyzing the different needs while ensuring the good training practices in place. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Supervise and manage a team, analyzing the training needs and ensuring good training practices of the team;
  • Manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the different training initiatives;
  • Oversee internal progression & development systems;
  • Analyze, implement and ensure the delivery of training quality, and compliance with the different agreements and standards in place;
  • Oversee and develop the Learning Management System;
  • Lead training development and optimization projects;
  • Identify training requirements and institutes plans for training new and existing employees;
  • Seek and gather information from management, employees and other departments regarding the effectiveness of completed training courses and constantly seek to improve;
  • Assist in planning, creating, and implementing training courses and materials for each department as well as reviewing and maintaining the current training material up to date and relevant.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Administration, coupled with an HR profile or equivalent;
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years' experience in training, with two (2) to five (5) years in a leadership role;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching and motivational skills;
  • Demonstrate organization and tactical planning skills;
  • Strong project management capabilities;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team, with a focus on coaching and motivational skills;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
