Procurement Manager - West Camden Apply Now angle-right
Due to significant population growth the West Camden Wastewater Recycling Plant will be amplified to meet customer needs and stakeholder requirements. To undertake the amplification, Downer and BMD have been engaged in a Joint Venture to undertake the amplification works on behalf of Sydney Water.

Downer has an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our West Camden project in a permanent, full-time position located in Camden.

The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services on behalf of the organisation from partnered and contracted suppliers, ensuring that all purchases meet specifications, pricing and quality and delivered on time. The objective is to maximize benefits of Downer's strategic contracts and supplier partnerships.

THE ROLE
  • Plan, organise and manage the procurement process for the Project.
  • Develop strategic alliances with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Interface with other Downer departments and vendors for all matters related to the procurement of Project materials, equipment's and services scope.
  • Handle and manage Project RFQ's, commercial evaluations, PO award and PO administration to final delivery and PO close out
  • Oversee all procurement activities associated with the effective purchasing of project requirements
  • Develop and maintain a commercially sound Vendor base, survey the market for new supply sources including non- traditional ones and maintain Project "Approved Vendor List"
  • Provide support to project cost controls in procurement related activities, bids versus buy analysis and the preparation of cash flow plans for project purchase orders
  • Prepare accurate and timely narrative monthly reports that contain movements and progress

ABOUT YOU
  • Demonstrated Procurement management experience in Engineering and/or Construction preferably in water, wastewater construction projects
  • Degree in Engineering or Masters in Business Administration or relevant qualifications
  • Experienced in setting up of a Functional Procurement Team, establishing work-flows and operating procedures
  • Process strong knowledge of procuring technical equipment and material
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
