Job Description

To support the Kinross Brownfield Exploration department in analytical, coordination and reporting work to meet key corporate and site commitments. Reports to the VP Brownfield Exploration, and also assists other professionals within the Exploration group. Contributes to the design and development of processes, practices, and methodologies in Brownfield Exploration. Partakes in activities related to the modelling and analysis of geological information and processes to ensure that Company standards are met. The role spans the entire mining life cycle from discovery, exploration, development, construction, operations, closure and reclamation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the preparation and compilation of the Company's NI 43-101 Technical Reports and documentation to ensure compliance with industry and operational requirements
  • Assists in the development, editing and organization of internal technical standards
  • Assist in the compilation of global exploration statistics, results and reports.
  • Processing of data for use in resource modelling; mineral resource characterization utilizing 3D visualization software to analyze results
  • Support other analytical database geology work and brownfield exploration
  • Actively seeks mentorship and learning opportunities to improve technical knowledge and skill set
  • Occasionally travels to various sites globally, as required
  • Other duties as required


Education and Experience

  • 3rd year student in Geology, Geosciences or Geological Engineering

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge and skill with a PC utilizing office applications
