Hatch is currently seeking a co-op student for positions in the Structural Engineering department to join our mining and water power group in our Vancouver office. If you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and understand innovation, we want to hear from you.
Working closely with our engineers and designers, your primary role will be to act as a technical resource on challenging projects. You will apply analytical, conceptual, research, and planning skills to design heavy industrial steel and concrete structures.
Candidates will be exposed to modern design tools, including 3D modeling, finite element analysis and complex calculation software. In addition to theoretical design and analytical work, candidates may gain valuable on-site practical experience.
The student will be assigned to work closely with experienced engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring. There will be opportunities to gain experience in a variety of technical areas.

Education and Experience:
- A 3rdyear student or higher currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering co-op program from an accredited university/college
- In good academic standing
- Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious
Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):
- Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
- Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
