Junior Product Support Specialist / Technical Analyst, Products (Contract)

Reporting to the Lead, Mine Design and Geology, the consultant will be providing technical assistance with solution design and delivery, support and sustainment of Geology and Mine Engineering focused a portfolio of custom off the shelf products for our operations around the world.

Duties include: System Delivery, Release and Deployment Management, Change Management, Vendor Engagement, System Implementation. The candidate will be the primary contact for support, implementation and sustainment of Geology and Mine Engineering systems.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Project leadership to implement COTS solutions working with vendors.
• Advanced software support, server configuration, packaging and release management for software packages including quality assurance, testing, change management and post implementation support.
• Plan and implement updates to existing systems (purchased, configured and/or developed internally) as well as new solutions in mining engineering (include but not limited to scheduling, mine planning, geology, and geotechnical systems).
• As part of a small team, provide Tier 2 & 3 support for incidents related to Mine Engineering systems. Resolve incidents working with vendors and other team members.
• Support engagement and sustainment activities for geology, scheduling, and mine planning systems (including incidents, problems, defects, and enhancements management).
• Collaborate as a deliver resources with other teams and groups within Digital Operations and T&I
• Test, analyze and provide quality assurance for software solutions in place for mining engineering.
• Perform change control, Incident resolution, quality assurance and testing, knowledge base updates, and implementation of releases and updates to engineering systems
• Text file/ log parsing, License Usage Monitoring, and reporting for Mine Engineering based solutions
• Script and Report development with PowerShell/Batch/ Python scripting and SSRS Reporting

Qualifications:

• At least 2+ years of software development/system configuration experience with a SQL Server database environment with T-SQL experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products, including: Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, SQL Server (SSRS).
• Demonstrated ability to lead an implementation/project of up to 3 months of effort.
• Some travel to site is required, up to 10% of the duration of the contract.
• Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work remotely with little supervision is essential.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose & address application issues. Comfortable to operate in a support capacity for business-critical tools, applications, and expert systems; leveraging vendor support to detect and resolve high priority issues
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

Nice to Have Skills:

• Communication in Spanish
• JSON, C# and/or SQL Server Reporting Services development experience
• Internet Information Server (IIS) configuration experience
• C# development experience
• Business analysis experience and implementation experience for small software development projects.
• Experience with ITIL and ITSM processes for Incident, Defect and Enhancement management.
• PowerBI development of dashboards / reports and data modelling
• Software development background including development of distributed applications and Windows Service Development and debugging
• Experience with configuration and management of enterprise-class software licensing software such as Reprise License Manager and Flex Net text/log processing and parsing to generate automated reports would be an asset
• Experience working with Azure Devops and Scrum frameworks
