POSITION OVERVIEW

Maintenance planner's primary purpose is to plan and schedule all maintenance activities for the mobile equipment. This includes the development of detailed job plans, facilitates compliance with OEM specifications, identifies best practices and complies with safety and environmental policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work on plans that are 1 to 4 weeks in the future.
  • Organize and plan the for extended shutdowns on process plants and equipment.
  • Plan for corrective jobs that are in the backlog and preventive/periodic jobs.
  • Minimize the impact of the maintenance tasks on the production schedule.
  • Determining the detailed scope of work, the skills, parts, tools, drawings and other artifacts, durations, and costs required to perform the work safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Determine the "What" "How", and "Duration" of each job planned 2-4 weeks ahead and for extended shutdowns on process plants and equipment.
  • Determine the "When" and "Who" for jobs 1 week ahead.
  • Determine when maintenance tasks can be performed safely based on availability of specific individuals or contractors with the required skills, parts, tools, drawings, and equipment availability.
  • Create time-based, performance based and condition-based maintenance plans in SAP.
  • Maintain measuring points for equipment in SAP.
  • Optimize the resources (labor skills/crafts, contractors, parts, tools, drawings, etc) required to perform required maintenance activities.
  • Continuously improve job library which includes creation and modification of task lists, maintenance plans and Bill of Materials in SAP.
  • Continuously improve functional location and equipment hierarchy registry in SAP.
  • Create and update maintenance kits for maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain equipment master data.
  • Coordinate and submit requests for new material masters, new materials to stock.
  • Obtain quotes, create requisitions, monitor approvals / answer questions, monitor POs, delivery times, expediting.
  • Manage work center and planner group back log by planning, executing and closing work orders.
  • Update failure and breakdown codes on notifications after root causes are identified.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of maintaining equipment in mobile Equipment applications.
  • Must have good people skills and ability to effectively communicate to superiors and subordinates verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions in Excel, Word, Ellipse, PowerPoint, MS Access and MS Outlook.
  • Deductive reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Ability to navigate through complicated and detailed purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Sound understanding of MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations as they relate to the area of work.
  • Needs skills in SAP , project management, predictive maintenance, equipment repair, and maintenance planning.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • English language fluency.
  • Must have High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)


ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY
  • The job requires training or instruction in the area of environmental Awareness.
  • This job requires training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate MSHA training.
