Our client, an ASX listed mining and exploration company, is seeking the services of an experienced Accountant to join their Perth based finance team and play an integral part as they move through new and exciting milestones.The mine site is an iconic mine that is starting to ramp back up into production.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this position will initially be based in Perth but after 6 months would transition into a Site Accountant/Management Accountant role, based at site on an 8/6 FIFO roster. The role is a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with the month end accounting process.
• Assist with the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations.
• Facilitate the processing of monthly ledger reconciliations and supporting the Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
• Assist in preparation of group's consolidated monthly management reports and other ad hoc reports as required.
• Assist with preparation and lodgement of monthly and quarterly business activity statements (BAS)
• Collaborate with teams on various accounting projects,

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to display the following qualities:

• 5 years of total experience, mining preferred
• PRONTO Xi - this is a must
• Consolidated reporting experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of finance principles including financial reporting
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation including superannuation, GST and FBT
• Attention to accuracy and detail
