Temporary Metallurgical Technician
The metallurgical technician will perform tasks to support the day to day operation of the Hemlo mill. Their responsibilities include items such as reporting on mill operational performance metrics, managing of reagent procurement to maintain full plant utilization, routine process sampling and test work, and providing refinery support.

Temporary Metallurgical Technician
The metallurgical technician will perform tasks to support the day to day operation of the Hemlo mill. Their responsibilities include items such as reporting on mill operational performance metrics, managing of reagent procurement to maintain full plant utilization, routine process sampling and test work, and providing refinery support.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Metallurgist with his/her duties to include:
- Working safely, responsibly and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards and procedures
- Complete process monitoring and lab/plant testing, data entry, analysis and reporting
- Coordinate with purchasing to procure mill reagents to ensure maximum operating time in the mill, paste plant, and ETP
- Monitoring plant performance, identifying sources of variability and making recommendations for improvement
- Maintain met lab reagents and supplies and update standard operating procedures as required
- Developing quality control programs within the plant and onsite laboratories
- Maintain mill documentation for cyanide code certification
- Coordinate sampling and shipping of mill fine carbon
- Maintain and troubleshoot issues with mill gas badge analyzers
- Perform routine mill inspections during maintenance shutdowns
- Assist in refinery pours and provide relief coverage as a backup refiner
- Ability to work steady dayshift with eventual 12 hour rotating shiftwork
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience supporting mineral processing plant operations would be an asset
- Proven interpersonal, effective communication and organizational skills
- Proven ability to define problems, analyze complex data sets and develop solutions
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Software
- Demonstrated ability to work safely
- Demonstrated personal integrity, commitment and perseverance
- Proven leadership skills
- Integrity focus and a strong work ethic
- Proven ability to assess opportunities and deliver results
- Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently

- Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate
