This position is located in Reno, Nevada. This is not a remote position and the successful applicant will be required to work out of the Reno location. Relocation assistance may be available within the USA.
The USA Financial Controller will serve as a key member of the USA leadership team reporting directly to Chief Financial Officer of the Americas and dotted line to the Vice President USA. The Financial Controller is the senior financial manager responsible for all financial accounting and related functions as well as supporting the transition of administration processes to the Shared Services Center. The Financial Controller is responsible for the management of the full range of budgeting/forecasting, project accounting, and financial accounting and reporting from data entry to preparation of financial statements. Duties will focus on ensuring proper financial reporting, internal controls, financial analysis and reporting, both to local management and to a the holding company management. Leading a smaller team hands on accounting and statement preparation will be required.

Education
Required: University degree with CPA Designation
Preferred: as above, with MBA
Experience
15 years finance and accounting experience in mining, construction, or oil and gas industries, with minimum 5 years at the executive level
Experience in organizations undergoing change or rapid growth
Experience in a projects based environment
Experience working in an ERP environment
Preferred: experience working in a JDE environment and working with foreign currencies

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the following functions:
- Project accounting (job cost and project based environment)
- Billings
- Accounts receivable
- Accounts payable
- Payroll
- Fixed assets
- General accounting including preparation of management and financial statements
- Supply Chain - including procurement and sourcing
- Prepare, analyze and report on monthly management statements, as well as quarterly and annual financial statements
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place and functioning
- Develop, support and/or champion business process automation initiatives
- Lead the changes required to the financial and management information systems and controls to support the company's development and growth in USA.
- Develop KPI dashboards, create diligent analyses, and implement balance sheet improvements, investment decision making and strategic business modeling.
- Plays a key role in partnering with the business and informing leadership of actual and projected performance.
- Analyze business trends, changes, and new initiatives in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.
- Work closely with operations management to prepare timely budgets and forecasts; analyze and explain results; and ensure best practices in managing data requirements and integrity, particularly with project controls personnel
- Liaise with other corporate departments on policies and procedures
- Liaise with financial managers at affiliated companies
- Mentor/coach and provide leadership to other members of the team
- Travel may be required
Education
