Job Description:

Working a fourteen (14) day on fourteen (14) day off rotation at the mine site, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing the Fixed Plant Maintenance Crews, while ensuring they work in a safe and productive manner at Lac des Iles Mine.
Major areas of responsibility include the application of maintenance practices in alignment with Lac des Iles Mine business objectives, maintenance strategy and production goals, during the daily execution of maintenance activities on Hoist and Fixed Plant equipment. This position participates actively to implement and execute maintenance plans in a rapidly changing mining environment. This position facilitates the safety of staff, the environment, while communicating on a regular basis about equipment performance including availability, reliability, repeated problems, and cost. This position works closely with the Planner and other Supervisors using a team approach to solve problems.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess a High School diploma or equivalent; Certified Interprovincial Millwright Certificate, or Mechanical Technologist / Mechanical Engineering / Mining Engineering Diploma; minimum 7 years' experience with industrial stationary equipment, preferably in mining; and at least 2 years' experience in Maintenance or Operations in a supervisory role. In addition the successful candidate must be familiar with Mine Hoist equipment; possess good computer skills including Microsoft Office; possess an aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new computer programs; possess superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others; and possess effective coaching, mentoring delegating, and communication skills as well as a valid driver's license.
