About the role

We're looking for experienced Signals Technicians to safely maintain and improve our rail signalling asset which includes the world's first autonomous heavy haul system, Autohaul.

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is looking for a new challenge. Reporting to the Signals Supervisor on a Karratha roster of 4 days 4 nights 6 off, or Tom Price and Gudai-Darri on an 8 day on 6 days off, 7 nights on 7 days off, you will:
  • Efficiently carry out planned maintenance and inspections of train control signalling and associated communications to provide safe and reliable operation of the railway.
  • Safely support the Rail Network Renewal activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of improvement projects and propose improvements to maintenance processes.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders including Train Control, Rail operations, and Engineering Support regarding the signalling system performance.
  • Identify faults and implement permanent solutions.

What You'll Bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A Grade WA Electrical License
  • Certificate IV in Rail Signalling
  • A Current 'C' Class Driver's License
  • Experience in Rail Signalling
  • Excellent communications skills; and proven ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and systems

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Vital / Radio / IP Communications knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant computer programs including SAP

Where you will be working

We operate 200 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals. The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometres with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.

Our network is the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia, and as we focus on the future, our vision is to become the greatest heavy haul railway in the world.
