As part of RACE21™, the Renew Operational Systems (ROS) Program is responsible for refreshing and fortifying the digital backbone at Teck operations. This program will upgrade Teck’s operational technology across Mine, Plant, Maintenance, Health, Safety and Environment with a new and expanded set of integrated technologies.

Working with the Program Manager, the Project Manager (PM) will support ROS projects touching on meaningful areas of mining such as digitization, automation and sophisticated analytics and provides an opportunity to collaborate with global multi-functional teams.

TheROS portfolio consists primarily of projects to deploy:

• Industrial wired and wireless (WiFi/LTE) networks in open pit mining and processing operations.
• Process instrumentation and controls to processing plants.
• Mining, Engineering, Geology and Processing specific application packages and systems.
• IoT and IIoT sensors, GNSS (GPS), IP cameras.
• Industrial computing platforms to light and heavy vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Use interpersonal and communication skills to engage with employees, contractors and vendors on-site and at all levels of the organization.
• Navigate and deliver in ambiguous environments (limited information, sophisticated customer management)
• Lead delivery through large external organizations with validated management and team leadership abilities.
• Successfully lead and deliver projects from inception to completion with a high level of quality.
• Oversight and management of team members working on the project and identify, resolve and call out any issues and risks.
• Document and lead project schedules, status reporting, scope, quality, budget and forecasts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• PMP certification (preferred)
• Focus on customer happiness of project delivery, quality and long-term supportability of technology.
• 5+ years leading projects in a large complex corporate environment.
• Skilled in the use of Project Management and Finance Systems.
• Practical experience managing projects greater than $10M.
• Cost Management, Organizational Change, Risk Management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills at both technical and executive level.
• Proficient in Spanish would be an asset.
• Solid understanding of Capital Projects preferably industrial involving EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contracts.
• Sound knowledge of Infrastructure, Automation and Operations Technology systems.
• Control system automation and field instrument familiarity including hardware/software products and services employed for process control system projects.
• Experience delivering mining automation, efficiency, maintenance and safety technologies, or other operational technologies to heavy industry.
• Good knowledge of heavy industry: mining, petrochemical, and/or industrial manufacturing.
