Technical Writer - Cloud Platform (contract)

Reporting to the Project Manager – Data Platform Migration, the Technical Writer – Cloud Platform is responsible for curating existing content i.e. documents, training materials and technical guides to support our Azure cloud services and platform migration project. This role is pivotal to foster accelerated change, drive improved performance, and enable more effective decision-making across the project.

The successful individual would be passionate about collaborating with technical audiences and a self-starter who can engage directly with developers to identify content curation needs.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Create, edit and maintain documents pertaining to cloud platform objectives and the specifics of the applications and migration such as User Guides, Release Notes, and in-platform documentation
• Understand functional design documents and translate into product functionality and business process
• Ensure consistency in training documentation across product suite and ensure all written materials comply with Teck’s standards and branding
• Monitor metrics on the usage of training materials; use customer feedback to provide direction for improvement to future training initiatives
• Direct customer feedback to prioritize future user guides and technical documentation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in technical writing and/or curating existing technical content
• 2-3 years’ experience with classifying and organizing technical documentation
• 1-2 years’ experience working with cloud products, specifically Microsoft Azure
• 1-2 years’ experience working on major public cloud migrations
• Extensive experience curating content for technical audiences including developers
• Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite® and Confluence
• Working experience with Azure DevOps would be an asset
