About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking a Mining Systems Technician with on call requirements for our client based in Perth on a 8:6 roster to provide system technician support to Rio Tinto's truck fleet.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Provide technical support for Mining System Applications
- Install, test and repair mine systems equipment on heavy vehicles in a mining environment
- Scoping and implementing system enhancements based on customer requirements
- Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement with existing mining systems in consultation with Mining Systems Team, Production Systems Specialist and OC controllers training specialist
- Assist in the training of field operators with regards to the proper use of Mining System applications
- Liaison with the Mining Systems and Operational Teams to ensure systems are maintained in such a way that they provide a high level of data accuracy and integrity.
- Extensive experience in mining system applications such as Modular Mining (Dispatch, MineCare and Powerview)
- Strong working knowledge of Caterpillar systems - Terrain, CAES an Aquila and HME Interfaces
- Mobile radio network experience (WIFI)
- Current Australian 'C' class manual driver licence
- Relevant qualifications in Auto Electrical, Radio Communication or Industrial IT
- Experience with Autonomous Mining Systems (preferred)
- Experience in mobile radio network (LTE) and CCTV camera systems (preferred)
- Mine Production Reporting Solutions - Oracle an SQL based experience (preferred)
- Experience in Pit Technology Solutions, i.e. Survey Technology, Wall Monitoring Solutions (preferred)
