Due to growth in our construction department we are on the lookout for an energised leader to join our Transport Services Construction team, based in New Plymouth.

As an Earthworks Foreperson you will have the ability to plan, direct and control activities and lead your earthworks crew on civil construction sites.

You will drive your team to meet contract requirements, optimise resources and drive compliance. You will perform accurate reporting whilst working to achieve targeted results, and provide hands on training to up skill your team.

About you:
You will be familiar with working in a civil or road construction environment. Have a proven track record of supervising teams and subcontractors in a range of civil construction activities. You will be a team player with an organised approach to the working environment.

You will operate diggers with the addition of rollers, trucks and other heavy machinery as well as working hands on with tools. Machine control experience would prove beneficial.

Preferred skills:

• Strong planning and problem solving skills with the ability to manage unexpected events and make decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A Full NZ Class 1 licence
• Class 2 - 4 licences with WTR is desirable
• Great attitude
