The Asset Services Industrial business provides maintenance, turnaround, shutdown and sustaining capital programs for industrial operations and power generation across Australia and operate across industries including minerals and metals, iron ore, petrochemical and refining, bulk materials handling and processing.

We have an opportunity for an experienced and driven Mobilisation and Workforce Management Lead/Manager, to oversee the mobilization function responsible for resourcing Shutdowns and Maintenance activities within our Asset Services Industrial business.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Lead and guide a large Mobilisation and Workforce Management Team to provide a high calibre effective shutdown services to the business
  • Build strong relationships with HR business partners, hiring managers, project managers and other key stake holders to advise and provide guidance for all matters related to workforce planning and resourcing shutdowns
  • Drive the agenda for effective resource workforce planning partnering closely with the HR manager and business managers
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and maintain a workforce demand forecast based on scheduled and forecasted work
  • Proactively maintain, build and manage contingent labour pools in line with labour forecast requirements
  • Ensure the team has an in-depth understanding of project scopes, deliverables, rosters, remuneration and commercial impacts
  • Reporting on key workforce management metrics including activity and progress to key stakeholders through internal systems
  • Continual drive for continuous improvements to optimize the efficiency of workforce to continuously improve service delivery to internal customers
  • Support with management of third party vendors pertaining to the shutdown activities such as agencies and training providers
  • Influence results as an active member of the Workforce Management leadership team.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a self-motivated, passionate workforce professional that actively demonstrates and drives best practice and continuous improvement to enable process efficiencies. With a business partnering, solutions-oriented approach you are adaptable and capable of leading a large team in a high volume and complex environment.
  • Qualification or degree in Human Resources or Business is desirable
  • Proven track record as a successful Team Leader in a high volume shutdown and maintenance within the Mining, Engineering and Construction industries
  • Experience in managing a team responsible for allocation and mobilisation of casual workforce to shutdowns
  • Experience in Workforce Planning and Shutdown Systems and Technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively building and fostering relationships with employees and senior management
  • Able to work independently, be credible, confident with a high level of integrity
  • Thorough knowledge of the labour laws and EBAs
  • Competent in MS Excel
