About the role

We are offering an 4-month internship opportunity in Mechanical engineering in Kitimat at our Rio Tinto Aluminium group facility

Our internship in Mechanical Engineering will allow you to be involved in research, design, development, testing and maintenance of aspects of manufacturing and installing electrical equipment, components, and systems.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Creating and updating Maintenance Plan for Departmental assets.
  • Take small projects from concept to execution.
  • Implement cost saving strategies
  • Assist technical team improve asset reliability

Your contribution
  • At least one year completed in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field
  • Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
  • Analytical mindset
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Valid driving licence

Where will you be working?
Rio Tinto's BC Works is a part of the Atlantic Operations of the Aluminium product group and has been operating in British Columbia for over 65 years.
