SNC-Lavalin Environment has one of the most experienced environmental and geosciences engineering consulting teams in Canada and is currently seeking a Senior Groundwater Analyst/Modeller.  The employment opportunity will allow the successful applicant to support our expanding hydrogeology team on a variety of projects related to geotechnical, contaminated sites, water resourcing, mining, infrastructure, and/or environmental assessment. 

This position can be based anywhere in Canada.

How will you contribute to the team?

The successful candidate will be part of a team involved in a wide variety of survey and simulation of groundwater flow, surface water, and contaminant transport projects.  These would include such projects as: tunnel and mine dewatering, tailings migration assessments, evaluation of injection and production well fields, aquifer evaluation, and various projects related to geotechnical, resource management, contaminated land and infrastructure projects, and environmental impact assessments. The successful candidate will play a role in the field investigations, conceptual model development, problem assessment, analytical and numerical modelling, project communication and project management. 

What will you contribute?
  • University degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geological / Environmental / Civil Engineering along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. A post-graduate degree is an asset.
  • Must be eligible to register with a provincial association for engineers and geoscientists.
  • Must have experience using FEFLOW (3D), GeoStudio (CTRAN/W, SEEP/W, SEEP3D, SLOPE/W).
  • Experience with GeoModeller and Leapfrog is an asset.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for applied mathematics.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication is required; French language skills are an asset.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work within a team and solitarily with limited oversight.
