About the Role
An ongoing opportunity exists for an experienced Communication Technician at Rio Tinto Tom Price & Brockman 1 mine sites.
Role Purpose and Responsibilities:
  • To safely carry out inspections, scheduled maintenance and breakdown maintenance of all SC components that are part of the Mine Communications network & the Rail Systems Infrastructure.
  • Manage customer expectations
  • Assist Mining Systems and AHS Technicians when required
  • Identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensuring that maintenance is of a high quality and re-work is not required
  • Use SAP to raise notifications, complete time confirm and enter reliability and maintenance activity information.
Skills & Experience
  • Trade qualification in Radio Communications or Electronic Communications
  • Mobile radio network experience (Wi-Fi)
  • A good understanding of IP based protocol
  • Understanding of RTIO safety systems and demonstrated strong health & safety performance.
  • Western Australian C class drivers licence
  • Very customer focussed with a collaborative approach
