We are looking for a Shutdown Planner Mobile Equipment to apply the Work Management best practices during shutdown maintenance planning as defined by Rio Tinto Asset Management to improve the overall safety, integrity, and performance of IOC assets. The role is responsible for enabling the operating areas to optimize the use of the workforce, lower cost and minimize production impact by applying the fundamentals of Work Management, providing planning expertise, and enabling the transition of the organization to a culture of proactive maintenance.

Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Management, you will be required to:
  • Lead the planning of all shutdown work, including the validation of work plans including work description, time estimates, proper SAP coding, parts ordering, staging plans, required tooling and labour required for the work.
  • Create, print, and communicate shutdown work schedules, including maintenance, operational and project tasks.
  • Build annual and bi-annual Shutdown equipment shutdown schedules, incorporating appropriate asset management tactics to minimise production impact.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize the maintenance program for all routine shutdown.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities ensuring that appropriate work management process is followed, and shutdown management processes support business objectives.
  • Assist in the budgetary process by providing long term maintenance forecast and by ensuring our various system information is accurate.
  • Work closely with Planners, Team leaders, Coordinators and Superintendents to solve planning issues.

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience in planning and/or maintenance management of Heavy Mining Equipment.
  • Experience in Mining or heavy industrial / processing environment and/or relevant interprovincial certificate/technology diploma
  • Computer literacy Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Project), SAP, Typing abilities.
  • Willingness to ensure quality, success, and excellence in maintenance planning.
  • Ability to multitask and organize work with a strong attention to details.
  • Good communication skills with team leading personality.
  • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles is considered an asset.
