Working out of SNC- Lavalin's office in Rochester, NV, and with members of SNC-Lavalin Inc. and providing engineering, procurement and overall project management services for the Rochester POA11 Project in Nevada, US by Coeur Rochester, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coeur Mining, Inc. As part of our project management services, we will integrate the engineering performed by various service providers under one set of specifications, procurement policies, standards, systems and procedures.

The project is anticipated to include a 20M T/year crushing plant with primary and secondary crushing circuits, as well as a high-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) circuit, a 13,750 gpm Merrill-Crowe process plant, a new substation with power distribution and new heap leach pad.

As the Construction Mechanical/Piping Superintendent will report to the Construction Manager and is responsible for ensuring safe, timely and cost-effective construction within the design required quality of all assigned areas.

What will be your contribution?
  • Lead a team of Construction Superintendents to monitor, coordinate and manage the work of the construction Trade Contractor and oversee Service packages.
  • Manage all Service Contracts except the QA Contracts and the Security Contract
  • Assume responsibility for site when Construction Manager is offsite
  • Prioritize resources, manage conflict and expedite project elements
  • Through team, coordinate and monitor the Contractors’ HSE, quality control (QC), productivity and schedule performance
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with contract scope and completed to prescribed schedule milestones
  • Assist in the coordination of resolving engineering issues in a timely manner that effectively supports construction
  • Continuously monitor the Contractor’s safety HSE performance and ensure that the Contractor’s scope of services is delivered in accordance with the construction schedule and the required design quality requirements


What we are looking for?
  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering or equivalent of education and experience
  • 15 years’ progressive experience in similar role/industry application
  • Experience in working with HDPE, stainless, carbon-steel pipe and associated spools, valves of varied diameters
  • Excellent engineering industry project construction management awareness
  • Ability to perform and maintain deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Ability to lead a team and help prioritize efforts
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
