Reporting to the Training Lead, the Training Supervisor is responsible for training, instructing, and evaluating employees in both classroom and field environments. The primary focus will be on Mine Maintenance and Apprenticeship development although will involve other departments when necessary.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal, and communication skills; a motivated self-starter, who can remain organized and prioritize contending demands in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with members of the training department and stakeholders
  • Deliver comprehensive training based on safe work procedures and site training requirements including simulator, classroom work, and field work
  • Design or redesign outdated training material as required
  • Provide direction and supervision for others assisting with training
  • Participate in the development and modifications of standard practices and procedures
  • Evaluate employees on their abilities to safely and productively operate and maintain equipment and processes
  • Assist with administering new hire, baseline, and emergency training
  • Utilize Success Factors software for scheduling and record keeping
  • Implement and direct Department training plans as outlined in forecasts and safe work procedures
  • Work with apprentices and supervisors to ensure acceptable development and system improvements
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors to ensure training is meeting the safety and production needs of the crews
  • Exhibit Core values of Safety, Sustainability, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Courage
  • Continuously improve the training process and systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required


Qualifications:

  • Completion of Gr.12 or equivalent
  • B.C. Mine Supervisor certification or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum five years of safety and/or equipment training or maintenance experience on all or some of the following: Haulage Truck, Electric Shovels, Production Loader, Electric Drill, Heavy Duty Dozer, Grader, Backhoe and Excavator, Line truck, Forklift, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, Commercial vehicles
