Reporting to the General Supervisor, Processing Maintenance, the Materials Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of resources for maintenance activities within the Line Creek Processing Department. This position combines the responsibilities for materials coordination and documentation improvements to ensure resources are available to support the execution of all maintenance activities. Close collaboration with the Planning, Scheduling, Execution, and Materials groups will be required to drive continuous improvements.

This individual would be self-motivated, have strong problem-solving skills, and is detail oriented, with a passion for continuous improvement. This role requires a high level of integrity and an ability know your audience thus communication and interpersonal skills are vital.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Validate the delivery status of all material scheduled and provide mitigating actions for issues
  • Complete IARs for new items, parts description changes and min/max changes supporting Mine Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations
  • Order special tools or equipment and coordinate part requirements with purchasing, planning, and execution
  • Assist with material management of cores and parts returns, shipping requirements, and material issues
  • Assist crews with break-in work orders, parts sourcing, and availability
  • Verify availability of service manuals and relevant technical documentation for processing equipment via regular communication with Execution
  • Manage the Parts Book, recognize book issues and initiate corrective actions as well as build new books as required
  • Aid in the organization, storage and tracking of parts located at the Warehouse
  • Participate and contribute to daily and weekly scheduling meetings
  • Assist during continuous improvement initiatives and implement and develop standard methodologies
  • Review and process warranty claims, coordinating with Teck Warranty Coordinator and vendors
  • Assist with monthly and yearly shutdown planning, tooling, consumables supplies and parts deliveries
  • Support planning and scheduling as back up, when required


Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in an industrial materials management or inventory control environment
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Planning and Materials Management Best Practices
  • Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite® and computer maintenance management software
  • Dynamics AX experience is an asset
