About this role:

What will you be responsible for?

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of Payroll services
• Assist the Payroll Advisor supporting the payroll function's reporting, audit requirements, business processes, systems and transactions surrounding employee benefits.
• Work will include analyzing payroll data, assisting in ensuring local payroll tax and legislation compliance, proving information regarding specific policies and payroll tax, tracking processes and activities.
• Process payrolls along with another Coordinator on a bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly basis.
• Payroll duties to be divided between two payroll coordinators with each providing backup to the other position so job duties for both must be known.
• This position will need to answer interrogatories and enter garnishments.
• The position will also be assisting in various projects.

Your role will consist of:

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

• We prepare and process US employees including CC&V employees and expats.
• Prepare and process expat payroll compensation collection files provided by outside vendor.
• We prepare government payments and filings for bi-weekly and monthly tax filings.
• Process special payrolls, including off-cycles, bonuses, long-term incentive payouts.
• We request payroll funding from Treasury and make all bi-weekly and monthly tax payments.
• Supervise the Payroll Customer Service email address and respond to payroll related queries from employees.
• We establish ongoing and proactive relationships with key partners including Human Resources, Accounting, Treasury, Legal and Tax departments to ensure compliance with payroll and tax law, as well as the accurate administration of compensation practices.
• Assist in periodic labor and payroll audits (internal and external) to provide pertinent data in a timely manner as well as ensuring all payroll data is filed and maintained accurately and orderly.
• We review operational desk procedures and SOPs for payroll activities. Ensure operating procedures are kept up to date and followed.
• Answer garnishment interrogatories and input in SAP for all US payrolls.
• We support research issues with courts and provide data for government agencies as needed.
• Analyze inquiries or variances and coordinate with outside agencies to resolve.
• We assist with domestic tax filings and/or payments (quarterly and annual).
• Design, run and evaluate ad-hoc reports, using the available reporting tools.
• We maintain and archive payroll records on a consistent and timely basis.
• Assist with projects as needed.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist:

Here is what we would need to see from you!

• Five (5)+ years of experience in HR / Payroll information systems.
• US payroll experience required.
• Knowledge of Federal and State Payroll Regulation and statutory payroll requirements
• A sophisticated understanding of payroll operations: time and attendance, complexity within gross to net calculations, payroll taxes, general ledger and their impact on the financials and taxes.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines, independently, and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using good judgment in decision-making.
• Must be dynamic, meticulous, analytical, and able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
• Must have the ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Capable of discretely handling confidential information.
• Able to work with minimal direction.
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work across various areas of the business, including effective communication with people of different backgrounds and levels.

This position is located in the Corporate office located in Denver, CO with a hybrid schedule of working from home and in-office.
Work hours beyond the normal work schedule during periods of peak project related activities may be required.

The salary range offered for this role is $ 30.58 - 40.13 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
