Job Summary:
We are seeking a safety minded Environmental Compliance Coordinator with strong drive and enthusiasm to advance our organization forward through environmental monitoring, compliance and reporting relating to the requirements of the various mine and with State and Federal laws and regulations relating to environmental control, regularly exercising discretion and independent judgment in performing these functions.
Essential Job Duties:
•Contributes to Golden Vertex Corp's environmental goals and objectives
•Conducts field environmental monitoring activities related to water, air, wildlife, waste, vegetation, and reclamation.
•Ensures compliance with the required environmental deliverables through inspections, physical audits, and timely correction of identified deficiencies.
•Assists with the implementation of the environmental management system.
•Implements environmental sampling and quality control procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements of applicable permits and company policy.
•Assists in the preparation of permits, studies, or regulatory reports related to environmental compliance.
•Develop and update environmental protocols in accordance with state and federal and regulations.
•Assists the Environmental Manager in the planning and response to environmental issues and concerns.
•Provides Environmental training to staff as requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Qualifications and Skills:
•Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
•Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
•Ability to prepare accurate records and reports
•Ability to work well within a team environment
•Working knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Regulations
•Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, Database applications.
Education and /or Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental Science, biology, earth science, engineering or related field; or 10 years verifiable experience in mine industry
•Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in open pit, hard rock mining and/or with Arizona environmental regulations
Language Skills:
•Effectively communicates through oral and written forms
•Communication skills that across departments and companies
Other Skills and Abilities:
•Familiarity with State and Federal environmental agencies, environmental monitoring and compliance reporting
•Excellent environmental awareness and leadership
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
•Membership - National Association of Environmental Professionals - desirable.
Criteria/Conditions:
•While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stair and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
•May be required to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday;
•The work is in an outdoor mine setting which requires hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required by law.
•This work is in a mine and plant setting which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
•Personal protective equipment is required when performing this position.
•Successfully complete background check and maintain a valid USA driver's license, without infringements < three (3) years;
