About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintainer who is interested in joining our Dampier Salt Operations at Lake MacLeod - Carnarvon. The purpose of the role will be to provide a safe and efficient facility through the execution of mechanical fault finding, breakdown repairs, planned and opportune maintenance. The roster will be 6 days on, 6 days off with the requirement of shift work from time to time depending on production requirements

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role will require you to:
  • Maintain infrastructure through repairing and overhauling fixed plant equipment to a high quality
  • Complete preventative and corrective maintenance for all equipment in the fixed plant area including conveyor belts, drives, rollers pulleys and belt scrapers
  • Conduct routine inspections of fixed plant assets including automatic lubrication systems and determine repair action when required
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with company policies and procedures
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects increasing safety whilst reducing risk and cost
  • Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly, and completed to the relevant standard / specification
  • Isolate equipment for maintenance and operational tasks
  • Complete quality handovers with oncoming crews and other maintenance teams including contractors

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A Mechanical Engineering/Fitting trade qualification
  • A Manual C-class Australian Drivers Licence
  • A good understanding of conveyor belts, drives, rollers pulleys and belt scrapers
  • Experience maintaining industrial water transfer pumps
  • A good understanding of hydraulics
  • Welding skills (highly desirable)
  • High Risk Work License LF, EWP, DG (desirable)
