Refractory Maintainer

About the role

We are looking for a Refractory Maintainer, to perform preventative refractory maintenance to achieve optimal plant availability by reducing downtime and breakdowns.

Reporting to the Refractory Maintenance Controller, you will:
  • Inspect, repair and maintain assets and refractories to minimize adverse impact on production.
  • Maintain and improve safety, health and environment standards and practices.
  • Perform condition monitoring, fault finding and problem solving on refractories.
  • Adhere to planned refractory maintenance schedules.
  • Performs fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment at the discretion of the Supervisor

About you To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Grade12/N3/NQF Level 4 with Maths & Science
  • Driver's Licence: EB
  • 2 years' experience within the molten metal chain will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrate sound work ethics and be committed to safety
