About the role:  

We are currently seeking a Sr. Reliability Specialist at our North Antelope/Rochelle Mine. This mine is the largest coal mine in the US producing a tonnage of approximately 67 million tons.  

 

Reporting to the Manager of Planning & Reliability, the scope of your role will be to deliver reliable equipment and assist in meeting production requirements by monitoring performance, identifying improvements and implementing enhancements on all major mining equipment. This role will also collaborate with operations and maintenance groups to improve mining production through improving equipment reliability and achieving lower operating and maintenance costs.  

 

Duties will include: 

  • Lead the Peabody Way Maintenance Work Management Standard and Best Practices 

  • Compliance with the site safety management system and SAWOL-MS and Site Safety & Training polices  

  • Ensure equipment condition monitoring is being undertaken, prioritized and actioned in the appropriate time frame.  

  • Ensure Defect Management Polices & Procedure is aligned with Peabody Best Practices and is actively used, and defects are tracked using notifications in SAP Actively manage and maintain defects in accordance the Defect Management Polices & Procedures. 

  • Tracking and monitoring equipment reliability Work Orders to ensure they are completed. 

  • Maximize equipment reliability through root cause analysis of delays and component failure. 

  • Engagement with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment is operated and maintained within Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies. 

  • Ensure compliance with Peabody purchasing polices and expenditure authority. 

  • Monitor ongoing compliance with budgets and take actions as required for compliance. 

  •  Demonstrate proactive safe leadership to all employees and contractors by utilizing safety tools and Peabody policies & procedures. 

  • Demonstrate strong teamwork commitments by fostering the culture of good communication using appropriate mediums to communicate all relevant issues to team members. 

 

The lifestyle: 

This position is a full time dayshift role, working on a Monday-Thursday roster out of our North Antelope/Rochelle Mine.  

 

About you: 

  • Minimum 5 years Heavy Earthmoving Equipment Experience 

  • 2 years mining experience in a supervisory role for Production or Maintenance (Desirable). 

  • Experience in Planning & Execution Techniques 

  • Understanding and knowledge of CMMS (SAP) systems. 

  • Knowledge of conducting safety interactions and risk assessments  

  • Continuous Improvement methodology 

  • Understanding and knowledge of the MSHA Mining Regulations. 

  • Proficient in the component forecasting and budgeting Proficient with Computer programs (Excel, Word, MS Project, email) 

  • Relevant Maintenance qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical) 

  • ICAM and/or RCA certificate of competence. 

  • Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT) – Certified Level 1 

  • Engineering or equivalent Maintenance & Asset Management qualifications (Desirable). 

  • Reliability Engineering certificate of competency (Desirable)   

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Required to sit at computer terminal for a long period of time 

  • Reach, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls with hands and arms, legs and feet 

  • Stand, walk; sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch, crawl, and climb ladders/steps 

  • Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds for a minimal distance 

  • Talk to, communicate with, and hear others 

  • See (vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus) 

  • Ability to maintain mental focus and concentration 

  • Perform all duties day and night, on all surfaces and in all weather conditions
