ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Maintenance Electrical General Supervisor, the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor will perform his/her duties as a member of the Electrical Maintenance Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. The incumbent will ensure proper efforts are made in the operation and maintenance of all electrical equipment, operation systems and components, as well as ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, health and safety code of conduct, and the environment.
  • Manage and supervise the daily activities of the electrical team with health and safety culture, work schedule/vacations, timesheets, new employee onboarding, maintain employees' files, training;
  • Elaborate, manage and supervise weekly schedule with standard planning, breaking schedule and emergencies with the best operational practices in the day-to-day work being performed;
  • Ensure to maintain the Mill, camp and surface activities with electrical, instrumentation and programming team;
  • Ensure to maintain activities with power generation and maintenance care;
  • Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Mines Act;
  • Perform daily toolbox meetings and monthly safety meetings (mandatory);
  • Apply the principles and practices of the Supervision Formula;
  • Ensure proper transfer of information with the cross-shift.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree, college or professional diploma and relevant experience in electrical field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Must have experience with power generation and electrical distribution;
  • Must have Process Plant maintenance supervision experience;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to effectively lead a team;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
