Requirements

• Working towards an Undergr aduate degree in Computer or Software Engineering, Electrical or Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent degree with experience
• Strong networking skills to help deploy and test wired and wireless networks
• Position is based on Calgary with potential to travel to the operations in Elk Valley, BC for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment and able to work on site, and drive on site in various weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
• Assist with installation tasks for telecommunications equipment and requires ability to learn various proprietary and open-source software for data transportation on Teck’s internal network systems
• Requires knowledge and interest/respect for cyber security common practices and procedures
• Provide in person and remote troubleshooting support with communications issues and will have ability to work in a lab environment
• Supporting technology and technical projects; ideal candidate will have some basic skills in Python

All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.
