Role Details

Gold Fields - St Ives is currently seeking a Electrical and Instrumentation Technician.

Reporting to the Supervisor: Electrical, you shall provide quality and timely electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repairs of the non processing infrastructure such as the high voltage network, power distribution, water distribution and bore fields, site communications facilities and ancillary plant and buildings as required and ensure all work carried out is aligned with Gold Fields and operation specific quality procedures and statutory regulations.

This role offered is a residential (Kalgoorlie or Kambalda), 9 days on 5 days off roster working 10 hour day shifts only. Being on call during the roster are a requirement of this role.

About the role:
  • Preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repair of plant equipment;
  • High voltage switching and management of the network including the 132kV, 66kV, 11kV and LV reticulation voltages.
  • Provide reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge and expertise to minimise down time;
  • Working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures to adhere to when carrying out maintenance tasks;
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping through workshops and wherever work is carried out;
  • Recording all relevant information into Gold Fields CMMS - SAP/AMT as required.
  • Be comfortable working in small team environment


About you:
  • An unrestricted WA Electrical License
  • A High Voltage qualification and preferably current DMIRS appointment as MSIR High Voltage Operator
  • Working at heights, EWP, confined space qualifications and Certificate IV in Instrumentation would be advantageous
  • Proven experience in high voltage, electrical & instrumentation maintenance in a mining or industrial environment
  • Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs
  • A current LV Rescue and CPR certification are also very desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of process technologies and equipment including working with SCADA/HMI systems
  • A valid manual drivers license
