Fixed Plant Controller

Work Location: Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: 4D/4N/8R

The purpose of this role is to provide safe, efficient and optimal operation of the process plant to meet operational targets across both Fixed plant as well as train load working from the Fortescue Centre HIVE

12 hour shifts

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Identify problems in operations process and resolve them in an efficient and timely manner
  • Develop accurate operatitonal reporting to the business through reporting platforms including but not limited to A-plus, Babelfish, excel, outlook
  • Use correct recording, reporting and escalation process. (Aplus)
  • Monitor system alarms and corrective actions taken to rectify alarm situations
  • Periodically review quick trends, and actioning before reaching an alarming level
  • Follow escalation process and standard operating procedures for efficient communications and operations
  • Actively investigate breakdowns and delays within the plant
  • Review, maintain and create Fixed Plant control procedures including but not limited to SWI's and single point lessons

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Proven experience in front line Fixed Plant operations
  • Previous control room experience advantageous but not essential
  • Exposure to SCADA system or equivalent
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills and a passion for Innovation and Technology
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to multitask on several activities/priorities at the same time
