Your Role

Newmont Cripple and Victor Mines is seeking a Metallurgical Engineering I to provide technical support to the Crushing, Mill, Valley leach Pad and Carbon Adsorption Facilities. The role will support defining production targets and lead troubleshooting of production issues and process equipment to achieve budgeted production metrics. This role will work very closely with Forepersons and General Forepersons and other stakeholders to safely achieve budgeted production target.

What You Will Do

  • Your safety and the safety of your reports
  • Environmental Compliance - Key Personnel for all Process Environmental Compliance
  • Safe Operation of the Plants- All Areas Performance
  • Monitor all process performance - key KPI and strategies to ways improve
  • Assist with Production ( Plant throughput, Leach Pad Stacking, Leach Pad Piping, Irritation Ounce Profile, Ounce Poured)
  • Assist with Business Planning (Metal Plan, Cost,), and Water modeling
  • Maintain liaison with customers and contractor representatives
  • Maintain communication with Process Asset Management and Metallurgy
  • Visible felt and engage leadership within the Metallurgy group
  • Assist with the evaluation of capital projects
  • Employees must comply with state and federal safety and health regulations, company policies and procedures, and the company's environmental compliance policy
  • Conduct staff and safety meetings.
  • Review and comment plant design, production, and process, then initiate changes. Constantly seek out new 'best practices' and be able to present them to Managers and Directors.
  • Assist with Forecast, budget and manage daily operations to assure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and efficient dept. operation.
  • Support the development lab by addressing technical questions
  • Geo-metallurgical support for all Process Operations Groups
  • Mill Production Forecasting


Training & Experience

  • Metallurgical Engineering or related degree and internship/practical experience
  • Extensive analytical and metallurgical lab experience
  • Good computer skills. Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work directly with others

  • This role is located at our Cripple Creek and Victor Mine site


The salary range offered for this role is $ 55,400-$83,200 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
