Job Description:

Summary:

The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing structural engineering and related technical expertise, primarily for high voltage substation and transmission line facilities. Responsibilities include design and analysis, project management, preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, cost estimating, and construction observation. The work may require short-term, out-of-town assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (including structural analysis and steel and concrete design)
  • 5 years of related work experience
  • Professional engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain PE certification within one year
  • Work experience with AutoCAD and structural engineering analysis software such as, STAAD Pro, MathCAD, LPile and MFAD, PLS-CADD suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
  • A flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7 years of related work experience
  • Master's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis
  • Experience with 3D software such as Revit
  • Experience in the consulting industry
  • Strong technical skills in a wide range of structural analysis and design
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated project organization and management skills


NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
