About the role

The Pacific Global Metal Management, Customer Service and S&OP team manages the planning, administration, delivery, collection and reporting process for five aluminium smelters in Australia, New Zealand and Oman production of primary aluminium for regional markets.

We are looking for a Specialist Metal Management (Pacific) to be responsible for the optimization of supply and demand of the Pacific region aluminium smelter portfolio.

Based in the commercial hub office in Singapore, the Specialist Metal Management is responsible for the optimization of supply and demand of the Pacific region aluminium smelter portfolio. As part of the CS, MM and S&OP team, the Specialist Metal Management role is a vital support function for Sales & Marketing and on-site schedulers. The role requires a strong level of communication with key stakeholders including but not limited to the Sales, Porfolio, Logistics, Customer Service and Casthouse Schedulers.

Responsibilities:

Optimize the supply and demand of the Pacific region aluminium smelter portfolio, a combined total production rate of 1.3 million tonnes per annum.

· Scheduling and inventory management, contributing towards team and business targets of working capital reduction.

· Capture optimal product sales mix opportunities through forward forecasting and capacity planning.

· Develop effective and productive relationships with on-site schedulers and internal stakeholders.

Additional responsibilities will include but not limited to:

· Primary contact between Sales & Marketing and Site Scheduling team.

· Work closely with the Sales and Potfolio teams to ensure alignment of business strategies.

· Efficient and effective communication of demand and capacity planning with key stakeholders.

· Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities which support team objectives.

· Long term planning - 5 year strategic plan and quarterly forecasts.

· Responsible for maintaining and communicating the metal position to align strategies and pathways for procurement, production and logistics

· Weekly inventory forecasting and month end inventory reporting.

· Management and co-ordination of monthly forecasts to Site and Sales & Marketing.

· Provide guidance on source smelter allocation for orders taking into account cost-effective solutions.

· Monthly order reconciliation and follow up of outstanding order entries.

· Quick response to critical changes in customer demand and manage production issues at site.

· Administration of forecasting system and relevant tools such as Colibri.

· S&OP leader and driving the S&OP within the sales and marketing team

· Drive project improvements on forecast ,supply chain visibility through various stakeholder interactions

· Drive the monthly consensus and forecast accuracy discussion with Sales

· Manage the trial as well as NPI process by working with various stakeholders to ensure balance between customer requirements ,smelter and logistics capability.

· Other tasks as determined by policy, strategy or specific objectives over time

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

· University degree in Business or relevant tertiary education

· A background in scheduling and inventory management

· Exposure and knowledge of the primary metals industry

· Experience in logistics and supply chain management

· Experience in S&OP

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong organization and problem solving abilities

· High level of attention to detail and accuracy

· Effective time management and meeting strict deadlines

· Ability to interact well with people at all levels

It will also be beneficial if you have:

· Advanced knowledge in Excel and VBA skills

· Exposure to SAP systems
