Required skills

Scope:
• This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs complex to difficult engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies advanced engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.

Knowledge/Qualification:
• Extensive underground and surface mining study/execution project experience
o Hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design, geotechnical engineering and investigations, boundary and topographical surveying (civil)
o Performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures (structural)
o Analyzing complex structures
o Wind and seismic loading in structural calculations (structural)
o Dynamic analysis and design (structural)
o Computer modeling and analysis (structural)
o Procurement and construction aspects of engineering
o Vendor drawing review, intergroup review – squad checking
o Engineering and fabricator drawing checking
• Accredited four (4) year degree (Mechanical)
• Professional Registration with ECSA

Work experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Lead Engineer in an EPCm mining environment.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of underground projects / equipment
