How will you contribute to the team?

Within the Rail & Transit Engineering division of SNC-Lavalin, Safety & System Assurance provides services in the fields of risk and safety. Our expertise spans the full scope of transit systems, including communications, revenue vehicles, traction power, train control systems, tunnel ventilation, and the facilities associated (stations and maintenance facilities). The Safety & System Assurance team located in Toronto, ON is looking for a Safety & System Assurance EIT to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects.

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Provide high quality consultancy services to the rail industry in the fields of RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) engineering and safety assurance.
  • Assess safety and create risk assessments, hazard analysis and hazard logs.
  • Deliver assurance, certification and safety activities, supporting rail businesses, governments and organizations.
  • Conduct and review of RAMS analyses such as FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams.
  • Contribute to developing strategies to grow the Safety & Systems Assurance team.
  • Support and delivery of systems engineering processes and activities such as verification & validation.
  • Interact with design technical leads and learn how the entire railway works as a complete system .

What will you contribute?
  • Bachelor of Engineering in either Civil, Electrical or Mechanical required from a recognized university.
  • Eligibility for registration as an EIT with PEO.
  • 0-2 years of experience working with infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent skills with MS Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Soft skills include enthusiasm for complex multidisciplinary rail projects, enjoy problem solving and finding solutions that meet the requirements of multiple stakeholders.
