Senior Process Engineer
Key Responsibilities
•Executing process design package development
•Develop process design package for capital projects
•Process execution of Process Hazard Analyses for capital projects
•Customer technical support needs
•Plant support (chemical and process expertise)
•Mentoring new process engineers
•Technical documentation
Activities
•Improve processes and products
•Provide chemical and process support to plant areas
•Interact with Minerals Technology Group
•Assist in performing a root cause analysis
•Monitor and report lake level and composition
•Involved in muds team
•Facilitating process improvement and leadership skills
•Train /teach operations about new projects
•Conduct safety hazards reviews
•Conduct bench and plant testing (materials, additives, process modifications, etc.)
•Teach technical and process related classes
•Perform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes, additives, etc
•Identify and develop process control mechanisms
•Develop solutions to process problems
•Assist plant areas in development of short and long term technical plans
•Lead process engineering teams consisting of technology group and plant process engineers
•Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required
•Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field from an accredited 4 year college or university. Chemical Engineering Preferred
•Minimum 8+ years of relevant process engineering experience
•Experience providing technical support for chemical manufacturing plants on capital and expense projects including design, scope, process change, mitigation actions, etc.
•Demonstrated success with process optimization and improvement
•Capability to help mentor, grow, and develop engineers
•Lean/Six Sigma Capabilities (Black Belt) preferred
