Reporting to the Supervisor Procurement, the Digital Systems Buyer will handle the execution of purchase orders, distribution, and management of RFx’s, and handle international shipments from/to all Teck sites around the globe. The incumbent will work in conjunction with other Digital System buyers at distributed Teck sites and educate distributed sites on Teck Technology and Innovation purchasing practices.

The incumbent leads the daily activities of the Teck Technology and System’s purchasing, and account allocations across all sites. The role demands close working relationships with vendors, project managers, and managers in the Teck Technology and Innovation group, as well as RACE21.

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions for accuracy, completion, and price competitiveness within Teck’s P2P ERP.
• Responsible for converting purchasing requisitions to purchase orders within Microsoft Dynamics AX, JD Edwards, Ivalua, and delivering purchase orders to Teck vendors.
• Acquiring 3 competitive quotes for purchase requisitions over $50,000
• Working with and maintaining constructive relationships with all partners in the purchasing process.
• Ensuring ethical purchasing procedures are maintained.
• Evaluating our vendors and coordinating purchasing activity within the enterprise.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to emails and messages in a timely fashion manner to internal partners regarding purchasing activities, and tasks, providing updates as well as educating them.
• Responsible for fully leading international shipments from the Supplier’s facility into Teck’s designated location, including building relationships with Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers and filling out Export Declaration Forms and Invoices.
• Collaborate closely with Teck’s partners in South America to run door-to-door export/import of IT solutions from Supplier’s locations to their destination.
• Deliver updates and reports when required

Requirements:

• Spanish Speaker is a must
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business.
• Minimum 5 years experience in procurement and/or purchasing.
• Experience in purchasing IT solutions is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• International Shipping/Logistics skills.
• Good ERP/systems knowledge
• Eager to learn
