Arctic Canadian Diamond Company (Arctic) is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine. The company also holds a controlling interest in the Lac de Gras Diamond Project. The Ekati Diamond Mine and the Lac de Gras Diamond Project are located in Canada's Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Team Lead, Diamond Specialist to join the diamond team at the Ekati mine working a 2 (two) week on 2 (two) week off rotation, reporting to the Superintendent, Diamonds. This role is a great opportunity for a safety-oriented leader able to motivate and inspire a team of diamond sorters and oversee, lend expertise and assistance to day to day production. The successful candidate will be on a 2x2 rotation and report into the Superintendent Diamond Control.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Manage and supervise the team to ensure all objectives and deadlines for the Sort House are met
- Coordinate and prioritize the day-to-day activities of the sort house team
- Assist the team with the defalsifying of the concentrate, acid cleaning, and sizing
- Preparing for shipping and the NWT valuation process
- Daily reporting to management on inventory and Recovery
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in diamond handling/sorting/cleaning/sizing/shipping activities with extensive knowledge of diamond control protocols
- Knowledge of the NWT valuation process is an asset
- Ability to follow and adhere to strict security and diamond procedures
- Good general computer skills - knowledge of diamond inventory systems is an asset
- High sense of discretion and comfortable working in a high Security area
- Clear, concise and direct communication with team, management and other departments
- Effective leadership skills : prioritize and achieve set deadlines, stress resilient, actively listening and engage and motivate your team
- Experience working in the mining industry, northern Canada, and an understanding of the northern regulatory environment is preferred
